Bhubaneswar: In a concerted effort to position Odisha as a leading industrial powerhouse in Eastern India, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday addressed the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) members, asserting that the state is rapidly becoming a key player in India’s industrial ecosystem.
Speaking at the CII session ahead of the Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, Majhi described Odisha’s transformation as a “rising star of the East.” He emphasized the state’s growing significance within the nation’s industrial landscape.
“Odisha stands tall as a vigorous partner in shaping industrial success. It is a symbol of dynamic growth, with progress that shines brightly,” the Chief Minister said. He assured that the state government is taking robust steps to ensure Odisha remains a preferred destination for both global and domestic investors.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly ecosystem. “Our vision is clear—to attract investments, create jobs, and drive sustainable economic growth for the people of Odisha. Through our initiatives, we are working towards a Samrudh Odisha (Developed Odisha) by 2036,” Majhi added.
To achieve this ambitious vision, the state is prioritizing industrial infrastructure, improving ease of doing business, and creating large-scale employment opportunities.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave 2025 at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on January 28 (Tuesday), marking a significant step towards enhancing Odisha’s industrial prospects.
