Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday said the Centre has allocated Rs 10,536 crore for various rail projects in Odisha in the Interim Union Budget 2024.
“Rs 10,536 crore has been allocated for Odisha in the Budget for railways,” informed Vaishnaw addressing a presser.
Vaishnaw said that apart from the ongoing projects, an investment of Rs 52,000 crore in new railway projects has been envisaged for Odisha.
He informed that as many as 58 railway stations in Odisha are being developed as ‘Amrit Stations’.
“Almost every region of Odisha has been covered under this,” he added.
He further informed that Odisha has achieved 100 per cent broad gauge track electrification.
He said dream projects like the Khordha-Balangir railway line, Talcher-Bimalagarh railway line, etc are on the verge of completion.
Projects connecting Junagarh Nabarangpur, Koraput, Jeypore, Malkangiri and Bhadrachalam which were never connected with railways have been approved, he added.
