Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has successfully transferred a total of Rs 1,250 crore to the bank accounts of more than 25 lakh women beneficiaries under the Subhadra scheme which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar, on Tuesday.
Apart from launching the Subhadra Yojana to empower women in Odisha, Modi unveiled railway and national highway projects worth over Rs 3,800 crore in the state. This significant investment includes railway projects valued at Rs 2,871 crore and national highway projects worth Rs 1,000 crore.
It is worth mentioning that the women-centric scheme will benefit eligible beneficiaries between 21-60 years old. They will receive Rs 50,000 under the scheme, paid in annual instalments of Rs 10,000 for 5 years.
Notably, 76 lakh women have already registered for the Subhadra scheme.
