**Angul:** After gang rape allegations made by a girl against her boyfriend and his two friends, the prime accused was held by the cops today in Pallahara police station here today morning.
The accused has been identified as Kalia Mahakula of Jhimiripali village. Mahakula and the girl were in a relationship for the last five years, said sources.
According to reports, the girl had lodged a police complaint about the incident following which the youth was held. In the complaint, the girl mentions that on October 30 her boyfriend had forcefully picked her up from her house along with two of his friends. They took her to a nearby hill where they raped her and then abandoned her in the middle of nowhere.
They had also threatened to kill the girl if she spoke about the incident to anyone.
While the girl has been sent for medical examination, the cops have launched a manhunt to nab the other two absconding friends of the prime accused.
