Bhubaneswar: Manisha Padhi, an Indian Air Force (IAF) officer from Odisha, has achieved the rare distinction of becoming the first woman Aide-De-Camp (ADC) in the country. Squadron Leader Manisha is a 2015-batch Indian Air Force officer.
On Wednesday, Mizoram Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati appointed Manisha as the first woman ADC from the Indian Armed Forces.
“Her appointment is not just a milestone but a testament to the power of women breaking gender norms and excelling in different fields. Let’s celebrate this remarkable achievement and continue to champion women’s empowerment in every sphere,” Governor Kambhampati wrote on his X handle.
Padhi has formally joined her post, reported to the Governor, and was introduced to the officers and staff of the Raj Bhavan, Mizoram.
Earlier, Padhi was posted at Air Force Station in Bidar, Air Force Station in Pune, and Air Force Station in Bhatinda.
A native of Berhampur in Odisha, Padhi is an alumnus of the CV Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar. Her parents still reside in Bhubaneswar.
