Rourkela/Angul: In the run-up to general elections and in view of the Phase-II polling on April 18 in Odisha, Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath today held campaigns at steel city Rourkela under the Sundargarh parliamentary constituency (Lok Sabha seat) and at Angul town under the Dhenkanal parliamentary constituency (Lok Sabha seat).
Addressing the BJP’s “Vijay Sankalp Samaroha” (election rally), at Rourkela aerodrome field, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said, “Odisha got two smart cities only due to Modi. BJP’s Sundargarh MP candidate Jual Oram has his contributions to the development of Rourkela smart city. Rourkela’s airstrip was earlier a small terminal. Now it is going to be a big terminal. After its completion, this airport will be linked under the UDAN Yojana. Then in fact, a person wearing ‘hawai chappal’ (lay man) will be able to afford air travel. This is being materialized by Modi Sarkar.”
He also claimed, “The work for second Brahmani Bridge has also been initiated by the Modi Sarkar. Also the work for upgrading Ispat General Hospital here to super specialty hospital has been expedited.”
The UP CM further claimed, “While crores of poor families were deprived of a roof for shelter five years ago, it was provided under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Crores of households had no toilet. 9 crore families were bestowed with a toilet each. 7 crore poor women hadn’t LPG cooking cylinder. That was provided. 4 crore families hadn’t electricity connection.”
He also added, “12.5 crore farmer families have been benefitted with Rs 6,000 assistance per annum under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Nidhi Samman. Even a poor person has own bank account today and 37 crore poor have been benefitted. The BJP-led Government has done it under the Jan Dhan scheme. 15 crore youths have been made financially self-reliant by means of the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana. Every poor of this country has been provided free healthcare facility upto Rs 5 lakh per year.”
“All these have been done by Prime Minister Modiji. Modi makes everything possible,” he asserted.
Later, he addressed a same election rally at Angul in Odisha.
