Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s fertiliser supply position for Kharif 2025 is stable as adequate stocks available across districts, said government sources.
As of July 17, 2025, the state has received 5 lakh metric tons (MT) of fertilisers out of the planned 6.82 lakh MT, with a total availability of 7.94 lakh MT. This includes Urea, DAP, MOP, SSP, and NP/NPK/NPKS.
The state government has taken proactive measures to ensure the timely availability of fertilisers. An additional 23,589 MT of fertilisers is in transit, and manufacturers have been directed to supply sufficient quantities to MARKFED. Enforcement squads have been formed to prevent black marketing, hoarding, and sale of spurious fertilisers.
So far, 1,993 retail points have been inspected, and show-cause notices have been issued to 426 retailers. Stop-sale notices have been issued in eight cases, and 25 dealer licenses have been suspended or cancelled for violating FCO rules.
The state aims to ensure quality fertilisers are available at the right price, place, and time. Compared to last year, Odisha has received more fertilisers this year, with 7.94 lakh MT available currently, surpassing the 7.71 lakh MT available during the same period in Kharif 2024.
