Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to conduct a fresh survey of all homesteadless families in the state to provide them with land pattas (title deeds).
The survey, which will begin on August 16 and end on September 15, aims to identify and provide land to eligible homesteadless families.
A decision to this effect was taken by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari at a review meeting on Friday.
It was decided in the meeting that the survey would be conducted in all districts of the state. The Minister has asked all the Collectors to take up the enumeration immediately and complete the exercise by December 31.
Additionally, the government has decided to provide immediate land pattas to 2,276 homeless families who were identified in the 2018 survey. The government has also directed educational institutions to record government land in their names and take possession of the land.
Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management Department Satyabrat Sahu among other bureaucrats was present at the meeting.
