Bhubaneswar: Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, in his capacity as Chancellor, on Monday appointed Vice Chancellors for 14 universities in Odisha, exercising powers under the proviso to sub-section (1) of Section 6 of the Odisha Universities Act, 1989.
According to an official press release issued by Lok Bhavan, Prof. Santosh Kumar Tripathy has been appointed Vice Chancellor of Fakir Mohan University, while Prof. Arka Kumar Das Mohapatra will head Ravenshaw University and Prof. Chandi Prasad Nanda has been named Vice Chancellor of Utkal University. Prof. Sanjaya Kumar Patro has been appointed to lead Dharanidhar University and Prof. Byomakesh Tripathy will serve as Vice Chancellor of Gangadhar Meher University.
The release further stated that Prof. Asima Sahu has been appointed Vice Chancellor of Khallikote Unitary University, Prof. Sibaram Tripathy of Madhusudan Law University and Prof. Pawan Kumar Agrawal of Maa Manikeshwari University. Prof. Mahendra Kumar Mohanty will head Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, while Prof. Jyotsna K.B. Rout has been appointed Vice Chancellor of Rama Devi Women’s University. Prof. Bibhuti Bhusan Malik will take charge of Rajendra University and Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra has been named Vice Chancellor of Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University.
In addition, Prof. Hrushikesh Senapaty has been appointed Vice Chancellor of Vikram Dev University and Prof. Satyanarayan Acharya will lead Odia University.
The Chancellor extended his best wishes to all the newly appointed Vice Chancellors, expressing confidence that they would contribute significantly to strengthening academic leadership and shaping the future of higher education in the state.
