**Bhubaneswar:** Sixteen police officers including two IPS officers received the Police Medals for Gallantry from Odisha Governor SC Jamir during a State-level function held at Jayadev Bhawan here on Thursday.
Vinaytosh Mishra IG Police (Railways) and Inspector CID Prasanna Kumar Dash were given the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service.
Sixteen police personnel including Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra and Kalahandi SP Brijesh Kumar Ray were awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry.
“Any medal will inspire to do good work and this award will motivate us for better performance in future,” said Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra who had previously headed anti-Maoists operations many times in the district.
