Bhubaneswar: Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, the Governor and Chancellor of Universities, on Wednesday extended the tenure of Vice-Chancellor Professor Santosh Kumar Tripathy for six months. Professor Tripathy will continue in his position from July 21 for the next six months.
A notification in this regard has been issued from Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar today.
According to reports, Professor Tripathy was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Fakir Mohan University in 2021 by the Governor and Chancellor, Professor Ganeshi Lal. He has been serving in this position for the last four years and has been entrusted with the additional responsibility for six more months.
Professor Tripathy has a long association with Utkal University, where he held various positions, including Head of the Department, Senate member, and Academic Council member. He played a key role in introducing the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) at Utkal University.
His written journals have received national and international acclaim. Besides, he has travelled to countries such as the United States, Nepal, Maldives, and Bhutan for education and research purposes.
