Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati presented an artistic depiction of the sacred Kalpabata, also known as Akshaya Vata, to President Droupadi Murmu, highlighting the state’s rich spiritual legacy, before she left for New Delhi, concluding her six-day Odisha visit.
The revered tree is a symbol of Odisha’s enduring faith and is considered a significant part of the state’s cultural heritage. The gesture was aimed at showcasing the state’s deep-rooted traditions and spiritual values to the President.
Taking to his X handle, Odisha Governor wrote “It was a pleasure to present Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji, with an artistic depiction of the sacred Kalpabata, the revered Akshaya Vata that embodies Odisha’s enduring faith and spiritual legacy.”
It is pertinent to mention that President Droupadi Murmu concluded her six-day visit to Odisha today, wrapping up a packed schedule of official, academic, and cultural engagements across five districts.
Her whirlwind tour took her to Khordha, Jajpur, Balasore, Puri, and Mayurbhanj, where she connected with tribal women and youth, stressing the importance of community-driven development and inclusivity.
The President was bid farewell by Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, Chief Secretary Anu Garg and BMC Mayor Sulochana Das at Biju Patnaik airport in Bhubaneswar airport.
