Bhubaneswar: The State government today announced financial assistance for flood victims in Balasore.
The government announced financial assistance of Rs.120,000 for immediate repair of completely damaged house, Rs.6,500 for the repair of a partially damaged concrete house, Rs.4000 for a partially damaged mud house, Rs.8000 for damaged hut and Rs.3000 for damaged cowshed.
A financial assistance of Rs.2500 will be provided for clothes and Rs.2500 for utensil if the family’s house is completely destroyed or submerged in flood water.
Small and marginal farmers will be given financial assistance of Rs.8,500 per hectare for non-irrigated areas, Rs.17,000 per hectare for irrigated land and Rs.22,500 per hectare for all types of perennial crops to compensate for losses. This assistance will be provided for a maximum of two hectares, a CMO release said.
Similarly, Rs 18,000 will be given to small and marginal farmers towards sand deposits in land per hectare and Rs.18,000 per hectare, minimum Rs.22,000 per hectare, for the repair of fish ponds. . Similarly, the government will provide Rs 47,000 per hectare if agricultural land is affected by landslides and erosion or change of river direction.
Fishermen will get Rs 6,000 for partially damaged boats, Rs 3,000 for partially damaged nets, Rs 15,000 for completely damaged boats, Rs 4,000 for completely damaged nets. Similarly, Rs 10,000 will be provided as assistance for the loss of fish seed farm per hectare.
The government also announced Rs 37,500 for dairy domestic animals, Rs. 37,500 per cow, Rs. 4,000 per goat or sheep, Rs. 32,000 per pack animal such as oxen, goats, horses, Rs. 20,000 per calf, donkey and mule.
The amount of assistance will be limited to three large dairy animals or 30 small dairy animals or three large pack animals or six small dairy animals per family.
Financial assistance of Rs 5,000 will be given per rural artisan and Rs 5,000 will be provided to handicrafts and handicraft artisans for equipment damage or replacement.
Detailed damage from concerned departments for repair and restoration of public assets like roads, poles, schools, primary/group health centres, 11 KV LT Line, drinking water supply system, minor irrigation projects, youth centres, panchayat houses and anganwadi houses etc.
The CMO said that financial assistance will be provided to the said departments after receiving the report.
