Bhubaneswar: Odisha State Medical Corporation Limited (OSMCL) has announced incentive for early delivery of medicines and medical equipment, informed State spokesperson on COVID-19, Subroto Bagchi here today.
“The State government has taken a special step for expediting early delivery of medicines and medical equipment to hospitals. The Odisha State Medical Corporation, the centralised wing of the State government for supplying medicines to hospitals has declared an incentive of 50% extra for delivery in 7 days, 25% extra for delivery in 15 days and 10% extra for delivery in 30 days to suppliers,” stated Bagchi.
He said full cost of transportation along with full payment within 24 hours of delivery has been assured by OSMCL to the suppliers.
During lock down period, the movement of vehicles carrying essential goods will be continued without any hindrance, he added.
It may be pointed out here that pharmaceutical majors in the country are facing difficulties in meeting commitments since supply of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) from China has stopped arising out of coronavirus situation hampering manufacture of drugs in India. India imports around 70% APIs from China.
