Bhubaneswar: IAS officer Amrit Ruturaj has been appointed as the new Collector and District Magistrate of Dhenkanal.
“In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 20 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 (Act of 1974), the state government do hereby appoint Amrit Ruturaj, IAS, as the District Magistrate of Dhenkanal”, read the notification issued by the General Administration department today.
Ruturaj, a 2015-batch IAS officer, was serving as the Labour Commissioner of the state.
Ruturaj completed his 10th from Jajpur Zilla School in 2007. Then he pursued Plus II in Science from Ravenshaw College. After completing his graduation from Ravenshaw University with Political Science honours, he did his masters in International Relations from the School of International Studies (SIS) JNU, New Delhi. He has been a Ravenshaw Gold Medalist. He cracked the UPSC examination without taking any coaching.
Notably, the Election of Commission of India (ECI) had ordered the transfer of Dhenkanal Collector Manoranjan Mallick yesterday.
