Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Tuesday appointed six new members to the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR).
A notification issued by the Department of Women & Child Development (WCD) on August 5, 2025 (Notification No. WCD-BCC-MISC-0011-2025/19814), the appointments were made under the provisions of Sections 17(1), 17(2)(b), and 18 of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005.
The newly appointed members will serve a three-year term from the date they assume office or until they reach the age of 60, whichever comes first.
“In exercise of the powers conferred under Sections 17(1), 17(2)(b), and 18 of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005, the State Government hereby appoints the following persons as Members of the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) for a period of three (3) years from the date of assumption of office or until attaining the age of sixty years, whichever is earlier,” the notification stated.
The newly appointed members are:
- Sukeshi Oram – Kadagadia, Champua Sub-Division, Keonjhar
- Kalpana Lenka – L-12, 2nd Phase, Ward No. 8, Basanti Colony, Rourkela
- Chandana Das – EB-562, Badagada Brit Colony, Bhubaneswar
- Kasturi Mishra – Plot No. 68, Ward No. 41, Bapuji Nagar, Bhubaneswar
- Manasmita Khuntia – Lachhaman Bhawan, Plot No. 20, NH-16, Charampa Square, Bhadrak College
- Sujata Nayak – 202, Ganapati Tower, Bomikhal, Bhubaneswar
The appointments are expected to bolster the OSCPCR’s ongoing initiatives to protect and promote the rights and welfare of children across the state.
