Odisha Govt Approves 902 New Posts In Higher Secondary Schools

Bhubaneswar: As a part of a continuous effort for strengthening higher secondary education, the Odisha Government has approved the creation of 902 new posts in higher secondary schools across the state.

Department of School and Mass Education had proposed recruitment for 642 post graduate teachers (PGT) and 260 non-teaching staff to meet the needs of 106 recently upgraded higher secondary schools. The proposal has received the approval of the Government, said an official press release.

This upcoming recruitment is a part of the massive employment drive under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Departments have been asked to proactively identify staff deficiencies, while also exploring new avenues for job creation. With the transformation and upgradation of schools across the state, requirement for new jobs are being simultaneously proposed to support the upgraded infrastructures.

As many as 106 new schools were upgraded this year to add class 11 and class 12. It was done to benefit the local students to continue their higher education in the same school. With the addition of these new classes, opportunities for teaching faculties and non-teaching administrative staff and assistants were created.

The approved non-teaching staff posts include 24 posts of Laboratory assistants, 24 of Laboratory attendants, 106 of Assistant librarians and 106 posts of Junior clerks.
