Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday approved the construction of an ‘Atithi Bhawan’ (Guest House) at Unit-II of Ashok Nagar in Bhubaneswar.
The approval was granted through an order issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department.
According to the official directive signed by the Director of Estates and Additional Secretary to the Government, the facility is part of the state’s Outreach Programme. It aims to provide comfortable accommodation for visitors arriving from various districts to the state capital.
“Government after careful consideration have been pleased to approve the proposal for construction of “Atithi Bhawan” at Unit-II, Ashok Nagar, Bhubaneswar as per the Land Schedule delineated below under the Outreach Programme of the Government to accommodate the visitors coming from various districts to the State Capital to facilitate officials and health care-related needs etc,” the order stated.
Approximately three acres of land have been allocated for the project, covering multiple plots as per the schedule provided by the Directorate of Estates.
This initiative is expected to enhance the convenience of district visitors and support the government’s outreach efforts by facilitating better lodging arrangements in the capital city.
