Bhubaneswar: The State Government has approved the proposal for allowing diet allowance to the doctors and paramedical staff engaged in COVID Care Centres, COVID Health Centres and COVID Hospitals.
A letter in this regard was issued by Additional Chief Secretary of Health department, PK Mohapatra, to all Collectors, Superintendents and Principals of Government Medical Colleges & Hospitals and Chief District Medical Officers and Public Health Officers on Monday.
Mohapatra informed that after careful consideration, the State Government has decided to allow daily diet allowance for the doctors & paramedical staffs engaged in the government-run COVID Care Centres, COVID Health Centres and COVID Hospitals at Rs 240 per doctor and paramedical staff. The diet cost will be met out of Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).
He stated that the diet allowance shall be implemented immediately with prospective effect. The controlling authorities will ensure to provide quality diet to the doctors and paramedical staff engaged in the above three institutions.
Mohapatra further clarified that the said allowance will be extended in the form of food and no financial incentives in this regard will be claimed or provided.
