Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has approved the Rabi Campaign 2025-26, aiming to cover approximately 29.30 lakh hectares under various crops, including pulses, oilseeds, vegetables, and sugarcane. The campaign targets a production of 23.26 lakh metric tons of food grains, 8.20 lakh metric tons of pulses, and 4.21 lakh metric tons of oilseeds.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja approved the campaign on October 22, 2025, emphasising the need for focused and coordinated efforts to implement flagship programs such as the Prime Minister’s Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, National Pulse Mission, and National Horticulture Mission.
The government aims to achieve self-sufficiency in pulses and oilseeds through strategic planning and effective implementation. The Rabi Programme 2025-26 has been formulated with a long-term vision to enhance area and productivity, and the entire government machinery will work together to ensure timely input supply, inter-departmental convergence, and field-level monitoring.
The Chief Secretary has issued a Rabi Circular to all Collectors, guiding them to develop a strategy suitable to their district’s agro-ecological situation. With strong leadership and dedicated supervision, the government aims to make the Rabi season productive, prosperous, and climate-resilient.
