Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government’s Higher Education Department has announced an extension of the e-Admission timeline for all universities offering undergraduate (UG) courses, including self-financing degree colleges and Sanskrit (Shastri) colleges under the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) for the academic session 2025-26.
The new deadline has been extended to June 1, 2025.
This update was shared by the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) Odisha on their official social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The revised timeline includes several important dates and activities for applicants:

Key Updates for U.G. Admissions 2025-26:
- SEBC Reservation: The Odisha Government has approved the implementation of 11.25% reservation for candidates from the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) in undergraduate admissions to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) under the Higher Education Department. Applicants from the SEBC category are advised to obtain a valid SEBC certificate from the competent authority and be ready to submit it during the admission process.
- B.A. B.Ed. / B.Sc. B.Ed. Admissions: In accordance with the guidelines issued by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the Four-Year Integrated B.A. B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. programs will be available for the academic session 2025-26 in all participating HEIs, except Maharaja Purna Chandra Autonomous College, Baripada. Applicants who have already submitted their CAF may select these programs during the CAF editing period.
- CAF Editing & Marks Update: Applicants who selected the “Appeared” option and submitted the CAF can now update their +2/equivalent marks within the revised timeline. For students under the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), marks will be automatically populated in the CAF based on the CHSE result database. Applicants from other educational boards will need to manually enter their marks in the provided fields.
- Multiple CAF Edits: Applicants will be allowed to edit their CAF multiple times within the specified timeline to resolve any discrepancies. It is essential that applicants retain the latest printed version of their CAF and present it during the admission process.
- Course Selection under NEP-2020: In line with the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020, applicants filling out the Common Application Form (CAF) can choose from various course types based on availability at their preferred institutions. These include:
- Single Major with two Minors
- Double Major
- Three Minors
Seat allotment will be made based on the selected Major in Single Major, Major-I in Double Major, and General in Three Minors. All other subjects will be mapped based on student preferences and the counseling process at the institution level.
