Odisha Govt Forms Four-Officer Team To Assist Investigation Into Puri Stampede

Bhubaneswar: The State Government has constituted a team comprising four senior OAS officers to assist the Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary in a detailed enquiry into the tragic stampede incident at Gundicha temple in Puri on the night of June 29.

As per a notification issued by the GA&PG department, the team consists of Manas Ranjan Samal, OAS (SAG), Joint Director of Estates and Additional Secretary, GA & PG Department; Binaya Kumar Dash, OAS (SAG), Additional Secretary to Government, H & UD Department, who is currently deployed in Puri, Rashmi Ranjan Nayak, OAS (SAG), Additional Secretary to Government, Water Resources Department, and Pradip Kumar Sahoo, OAS (SAG), Additional Secretary to Government, Works Department, who is currently deployed in Puri till July 8, 2025.

The officers will undertake this responsibility in addition to their regular duties and are required to be present in the office of the Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary, Planning & Convergence Department, for approximately two hours daily from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM to support the enquiry process.
