Bhubaneswar: In a major boost to AYUSH healthcare services in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a significant hike in the salary of contractual AYUSH doctors working under the National Health Mission (NHM). The decision aims to recognise their contribution to the state’s healthcare system and motivate them to continue delivering quality services.

According to the revised pay structure, the salaries of contractual AYUSH doctors have been enhanced based on their years of service. Doctors with less than five years of service will now receive a minimum monthly salary of Rs 56,948 after an increase of Rs 20,000. Those with five to ten years of experience will receive Rs 74,467 per month following a hike of Rs 25,000.

Similarly, AYUSH doctors with 10 to 15 years of service will see their salaries rise by Rs 30,000 to Rs 80,467 per month, while those with 15 years or more of service will receive an increase of Rs 40,000, taking their monthly salary to Rs 91,467.

Currently, around 2,912 AYUSH doctors are employed across the state. The revised salary structure is expected to result in an additional annual expenditure of approximately Rs 1 crore for the state government.

Chief Minister Majhi expressed confidence that the decision would strengthen AYUSH healthcare delivery and improve medical services at the grassroots level across Odisha.
