Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has initiated the process of setting up cold storages in 12 sub-divisions, with one old cold storage undergoing renovation, informed Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo at Odisha Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
In response to a question raised by MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain in the Assembly, Minister Singh Deo stated that the state government is working towards establishing cold storages in all sub-divisions. The Minister also provided a sub-division-wise list of the ongoing projects in an annexure.
The government aims to establish cold storages in all sub-divisions of the state, which will help farmers store their produce and reduce losses.
The Minister assured that the state government is taking necessary steps to set up cold storages in all sub-divisions. However, no specific timeline has been provided for the completion of these projects.
