Odisha Govt Issues Gazette Notification For Bijepur NAC In Bargarh

**Bhubaneswar: ** Prior to the Bijepur Assembly bye-poll formal notification expected to be announced by the Election Commission of India in near future, Odisha Government ruled by BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday issued gazette notification for according NAC status to Bijepur in Bargarh parliamentary constituency.

The notification issued on November 24, 2017 by Odisha Housing & Urban Development (H&UD) Department states, “In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (2) of the Article, 243-Q of the Constitution of India read with sub-section (2) of Section 4 of the Odisha Municipal Act, 1950 (Odisha Act, 23 of 1950), the Governor of Odisha having regard to the population, the density of the population, the revenue generated for the local administration, the percentage of employment in non-agricultural activities, the economic importance of the revenue villages mentioned in the schedule below, hereby, specifies those areas as a transitional area namely: Baunspola, Bijepur, Kandhara, Keuntipali, M. Gandpali, Majhipali and Nuapali (all under Bijepur Gram Panchayat).”

The notification also mentions, “Objections and suggestions in writing are invited from all persons likely to be affected thereby within a period of one month from the date of publication of the notification in the Odisha Gazette and objections and suggestions, if any received, through the District Magistrate, Bargarh, within the aforesaid period shall only be duly considered by the State Government.”

The District Magistrate, Bargarh, has also been requested to circulate the notification in the concerned local area and to provide the objections and suggestions, received if any, from the concerned local people to government immediately for consideration.
