Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha’s School and Mass Education Department released a comprehensive directive for hiring of 20,000 junior teachers (Schematic) via an online computer-based test (CBT).
The updated directive, which was released on Tuesday, states that all duties associated with primary education will gradually be handed over to Zilla Parishad and other Panchayati Raj organisations.
According to the directive, “Engagement of all Junior Teachers (Schematic) will be made by the respective Zilla Parishads under each category, i.e. for Classes I to V and Classes VI to VIII under the programme of Samagra Sikshya (SS) for implementation of the said Act for elementary education.”
According to the 2014 amendments to the Odisha Elementary Education (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Teachers and Officers) Amendment Rules, elementary teachers in the state are appointed through the absorption of junior teachers after three years of continuous and satisfactory service, which is taken into account by a committee at the district level. After three years of continuous and satisfactory employment, a Junior Teacher (Schematic) is qualified to hold the title of Junior Teacher. Their six-year commitment, as previously stated, would last till they are absorbed into the normal elementary cadre under the Samagra Sikshya scheme, it continued.
Candidates must submit their applications via the online channel in accordance with the instructions provided in the advertisement in order to be eligible for the computer-based online test for the position of Junior Teacher (Schematic).
A candidate must be between the ages of 18 and 38 on the date the advertisement is published in order to be eligible for the recruitment.
