Odisha Govt Issues Helpline Numbers For Citizens Caught In Middle East Tension

Bhubaneswar:  The Odisha government has issued a helpline for citizens affected by the escalating conflict between Iran and the US in the Middle East.

Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj announced the helpline numbers on his X post. The helpline numbers are 80046342 Ministry of External Affairs, 971543090571 on WhatsApp, and 9583321964 for Nodal Officer for Odisha Mo Paribar.

Taking to his handle, Sports Minister wrote: “Keeping in view the wartime emergency situation in the Middle East, a high-level meeting has been held. In this context, a working group has been formed jointly by the Government of Odisha with Odisha Paribar, the State Home Department, the State Labour Directorate, and various Resident Indian organizations for assistance and information. Individuals present at that place should contact the following numbers in any adverse situation: Ministry of External Affairs – 80046342 WhatsApp No. – 971543090571 Odisha Paribar Independent Nodal Officer – 9583321964.”

It is pertinent to mention that the Odisha government on Monday held a high-level meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anu Garg to assess the prevailing war-like situation in the Middle East and prepare measures to ensure the safety of migrant Odias residing in the region.
