Bhubaneswar: Keeping the prevailing heatwave conditions in mind, the Odisha government on Monday rescheduled the timing of Anganwadi centres across the state.

As per the notification issued by the Women And Child Development Department, the Anganwadi Centre will operate between 7 am and 11.30 am.

The department has instructed Anganwadi Centres to keep sufficient storage of ORS packets and clean water for students to avoid untoward situations.

Earlier, the School and Mass Education department has issued an advisory regarding the morning classes.  With schools opening on April 2, the department has asked the schools’ authorities to conduct morning classes from 7 am to 11.30 am.

Notably, the heat wave condition prevailed in the state as the mercury crossed 40 degrees Celcius at several places while many stations witnessed a rising trend.

At least three places in the state recorded temperatures about 37°C at 11.30 am, while the day temperature at five other places was above 35°C.

Balasore was the hottest place recording 37.6°C followed by Chandabali and Jharsuguda at 37.2°C.
