Odisha Govt Launches New Scheme For Youth Under IYDP

Bhubaneswar: To encourage participation of youth in the field of sports, culture, social work and make them active partners in the development of State, Government has launched a new scheme under “Integrated Youth Development  Programme” (IYDP).

The new scheme envisages to conduct competition and activities among the students at the Institutional level. Later, Youth Festivals will be organised under the scheme at the District and State level.

Today there was a high level meeting on this chaired by Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak Minister Higher Education.

After the meeting briefing reporters, Minister Nayak told that 687 numbers of Higher Education institutions including all Government, Government Aided Colleges and Universities are covered under the scheme.

Institutions will organise competitions among the students in the field of Sports, Culture and Social Work related activities from November 15 to December 31.

For successful implementation of the scheme, Sports and Youth Services Department has placed funds and implementation guidelines.

Promotion of sports, cultural activities and social activities in the Higher Education institutes is the main objective of the scheme.

These activities will provide a platform to the youth to develop their leadership, team spirit and individual talents and it will connect the youth with the larger community, Minister Nayak stated.

The meeting held in the Conference Hall of OSCB in virtual mode was attended by Commissioner-cum-Secretary Higher Education Arvind Agrawal , Special Secretary Promod Kumar Mishra , Director Higher Education Bhabani Sankar Chayani, Principals, lecturers, students and other departmental officers were present.
