Bhubaneswar: The state government has directed all the District Collectors to implement a Biometric Attendance System in all revenue offices under their jurisdiction.

“Timely attendance in the office has been one of the top priorities. It is expected that all employees of the State Government shall reach their office within the prescribed time. This is applicable to all employees, from the junior-most to the highest Government functionaries”, read a notification issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.

The decision follows a surprise visit by the Revenue and Disaster Management Minister to the Office of the Inspector General of Registration, Cuttack, where a significant number of officers and staff were found reporting late to the office on July 21, 2025.

This move aims to ensure punctuality and timely attendance among government employees, which is considered essential for good governance.
