Mobile Biometric Attendance

Bhubaneswar: In a major step towards digital governance, the Odisha government has made the use of a mobile-based biometric attendance application mandatory for all employees of the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD), effective September 1, 2025.

The directive, issued by Tapan Kumar Dalai, Secretary of SSEPD, was sent to all District Social Security Officers (DSSOs), instructing them to ensure immediate implementation of the attendance system across their respective districts.

According to the circular, attendance data collected via the mobile app will serve as the sole basis for salary disbursement starting next month.

“…I am directed to say that all employees of this Department must give their attendance using this mobile app w.e.f 01.09.2025 and salaries from next month shall be released based on the absentee statement fetched from the app,” the directive read.

The department has also designated Binit Bikash Mohapatra (+91-708841904) as the nodal contact person for any technical issues or login/logout difficulties encountered by staff while using the app.
