Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is set to increase postgraduate (PG) seats in government medical colleges by 502 over the next two years.
Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Prof. Dr. S.K. Mishra, has written to 12 medical colleges in the state, directing them to start infrastructure preparation for the enhancement of PG seats and opening of new PG courses.
The colleges include Phulbani Medical College, SLN Medical College, Maharaja Jajati Keshari Medical College, Bhima Bhoi Medical College, Dharani Dhar Medical College, Pabitra Mohan Pradhan Medical College, SRM Medical College, Government Medical College Sundargarh, PGIMER and Capital Hospital, SCB Medical College, MKCG Medical College, and PRM Medical College.
The highest number of PG seats, 76, will be created at Government Medical College, Phulbani, followed by 75 seats at SLN Medical College, Koraput, and 70 seats at Maharaja Jajati Keshari Medical College, Jajpur.
