Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government disbursed Rs 5,000 each to over 2.30 lakh women beneficiaries in the fifth or final phase of the first installment under the Subhadra Yojana.
This phase saw the government spending over Rs 115 crore to support women beneficiaries as part of the state’s flagship program, according to Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida during a special event on Thursday.
In addition, Parida announced cash rewards for Anganwadi workers and helpers for their role in the success of the scheme.
As per the announcement, Anganwadi workers will receive Rs 1,500, while helpers will be given Rs 500 as a reward.
Meanwhile, the second installment of the Subhadra Yojana is set to be released on March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day.
Deputy CM Parida also urged women beneficiaries to light lamps in front of their homes on the evening of March 7 to celebrate the success of the scheme.
