Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued a fresh notification concerning re-opening of schools changing its previous order issued in this respect under Unlock 6.0 earlier today.
“All academic institutions will remain closed till November 30, 2020. However, the Department of School & Mass Education may take appropriate decision with regard to the date of re-opening of schools under its control/superintendence/supervision in respect of classes from 9th to 12th standard, in graded manner, after November 15, 2020, in consultation with relevant stakeholders and issue necessary guidelines/SOP,” the revised guidelines issued by the Office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) read.
Earlier in the day, under the Unlock 6.0 guidelines issued by the SRC’s office it was stated that while all academic institutions will remain closed till November 30, the classes of 9th to 12th standard in schools under the control/ superintendence/supervision of School & Mass Education Department will open from November 16, as per guidelines/SOP to be issued by School & Mass Education Department.
Following the earlier notification under Unlock 6.0, the School & Mass Education Minister had stated that the department was ready and already discussions were underway with relevant stakeholders for initiating the process for re-opening of schools as per the SRC’s guidelines.
