07 February 2020

Bhubaneswar: Government of Odisha's online Single Window portal, GO SWIFT (Government of Odisha – Single Window for Investor Facilitation and Tracking) on Friday received the National e-governance Silver award for the year 2019-20 at the 23rd National Conference on e-governance in Mumbai.

GO SWIFT, a key business reform undertaken by the State Government with the objective to provide all requisite information/clearances to investors in a hassle-free and paperless manner, was awarded for Excellence in Government Process Re-Engineering for Digital Transformation.

The portal is a “One-stop Solution” for information on clearances required; land banks available; application, payment, tracking & approval of G2B services; risk-based synchronized inspection by regulatory agencies; incentive administration; post land allotment services; grievance redressal; and dovetailing CSR activities with the developmental goals of the State.

GO SWIFT has been acknowledged as a digital transformation tool that has changed an offline and manual intervention based process, involving undefined timelines and procedural delays, into a hassle-free and paperless system that assures the user a responsive and transparent system delivering timely assistance through well synchronized teamwork. This system has reduced the single window approval time to just 20 days on an average from 390 days a few years back.

Such innovative steps have started yielding results by the virtue of which, Odisha cornered 18 per cent of the virgin investments drawn by all states and also edged past Maharashtra as the most attractive destination for investments during H1 or the April-September period of FY20 which is a huge achievement for the State.

The Government of India had already recognised GO SWIFT as a best practice and advised other states to emulate the same.

The Gold Award was bagged by  Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, while Election Commission of India's ERONEY (Electoral Registration Officers Network) bagged the Silver Award.

The Jury Award was given to Real Time Pollution Monitoring System (RTPMS) of Andhra Pradesh' Pollution Control Board.
