Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government spent Rs 61,55,850 in 2024 to honour eminent personalities and freedom fighters by celebrating their birth and death anniversaries at the official level, as informed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in the state assembly on Thursday.
In a written reply to a question from Deogarh MLA Romancha Ranjan Biswal, CM Majhi clarified that the state government is celebrating the birth and death anniversaries of 118 eminent personalities and freedom fighters at the official level, with a total expenditure of Rs 61,55,850 in 2024.
Additionally, CM Majhi addressed concerns regarding the modernization of facilities in Deogarh.
He stated that if a formal proposal is submitted by the District Collector for the modernization of the old information center and library in Deogarh district, necessary steps will be taken to move the project forward.
