Odisha Govt Suspends IAS Officer Bijay Ketan

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Monday placed 2009-batch IAS officer Bijay Ketan Upadhyay under suspension after he was arrested by the Vigilance Directorate under corruption charges.

A communique issued by the Chief Minister’s Office today stated, “Transparency is an important pillar of this Government and we will not spare anyone indulging in any corrupt practices.”

Upadhyay was posted as the Director, Horticulture. He was held by the Vigilance sleuths while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh today.
