Bhubaneswar: The State government will observe Mental Health Week in all schools, colleges, and health institutions to create awareness about mental illness.
Addressing a Mental Health Awareness program at ITC Welcome Hotel, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that a healthy mind is essential for overcoming life’s challenges and achieving success.
She highlighted that good mental health enhances emotional, social, and physical abilities. According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, yoga, pranayama, a balanced diet, and a supportive family environment play a crucial role in maintaining good mental health, Parida added.
Noting that physical health and mental well-being are distinct, Parida said, “One can be physically healthy but mentally ill.” She acknowledged the various types of mental illnesses and the stigma surrounding them, which often prevents people from seeking help.
