Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government will soon constitute a Law Revision Commission to identify the old acts, and rules which have become obsolete and suggest ways to bring reforms and revise them.
It was informed by the Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan while speaking to the reporters in Bhubaneswar.
“We are going to constitute a Law Revision Commission soon to change/ modify the irrelevant and old laws, acts and rules no longer in use. The commission will pave the way for the changes or modification of the irrelevant acts”, Harichandan said.
Harichandan added that the government plans to amend the Right to Information Act (RTI), enacted in 2005, and take action against false cases filed against RTI activists. The commission will review existing laws, suggesting improvements to benefit the common people.
The commission would examine the existing laws and suggest ways to improve and modify in order to make them useful for the common people.
