Bhubaneswar: With Odisha bracing for the scorching summer, the state government announced that a comprehensive set of guidelines would be issued within the next few days to help schools and colleges cope with the rising temperatures.
These guidelines will be finalized after consultations between the School and Mass Education Department, the Higher Education Department, and other relevant authorities. The new directives will specify the start times for morning classes and outline essential safety measures to protect students from the heat, informed Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari.
Additionally, separate guidelines will be released for the general public, providing them with valuable information on how to stay safe during the summer months.
Revenue Minister Pujari emphasized, “The Revenue department conducts morning office hours, and we will decide on the next course of action for morning schools and their closure after consulting with the relevant departments soon.”
