Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department will launch the ‘SAFE Campaign’ in colleges and universities across the state to prevent suicide proneness among students. The initiative, part of the Shaktishree program, aims to promote mental well-being and emotional resilience among students.
Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj stated that the campaign will include campus awareness programs to educate students on seeking support when in stress. The program will foster a supportive environment, encouraging peers, teachers, and parents to help those in distress.
The campaign will create a conducive environment for students, parents, and teachers to discuss mental health issues and seek help when needed. Students struggling with mental health issues will receive counselling and guidance on accessing appropriate resources.
By promoting awareness and support, the ‘SAFE Campaign’ aims to prevent suicide proneness among students and ensure their overall well-being.
