Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has decided to open office of Assistant Labour Officer (ALO) in every block.
“Office of Assistant Labour Officer will be opened in every block. Very soon 200 such offices will be opened. The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has been asked to recruit 200 new Assistant Labour Officers. Following their recruitment labour offices will be opened in every block,” informed Labour Minister Srikant Sahu speaking to reporters here today while extending his greetings to innumerable worker brothers and sisters of Odisha today on the occasion of International Labour Day.
Sahu claimed that the outcome was a suggestion made to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to open office of the Assistant Labour Officer in each block so that people can benefit as Labour offices are located at a distance from the block headquarters.
The Minister informed that the Chief Minister is always keen on the development and welfare of workers.
He said that the government has sanctioned over Rs 3,000 for the welfare of workers in the organised and unorganised through the Nirman Shramik Kalyan Board.
