Bhubaneswar: Aiming to spread awareness about the Subhadra Yojana, Subhadra Swagat Padayatra will be organised in all revenue villages across the State on Sunday.
Deputy Chief Minister Prativa Parida announced that the government will organize 10,000 padyatras across the State.
“Women, particularly Self-Help Group (SHG) members, will participate in the event to raise awareness about the Subhadra Yojana and welcome the scheme at the village level. The padayatras will be held at every panchayat level under the supervision of the Gram Panchayat Level Federation (GPLF) leaders,” Parida said.
The Mission Shakti Department and Women and Child Welfare Department will organize the state-level padyatra, commencing from Giri Durga Temple and culminating at Rama Devi Women’s University, she added.
With around 50 lakh women registered under the Subhadra Scheme, those who complete the process by September 15 will receive financial assistance on September 17, coinciding with the launch of the yojana by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a mega event in Bhubaneswar.
The Subhadra Swagat Padayatra aims to promote the scheme and empower women across the state.
