Bhubaneswar: Ahead of Nuakhai-western Odisha’s agrarian festival, the State government today announced to release next tranche of financial assistance of Rs 2,000 each to farmers under the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme.
The assistance will be released on the occasion of Nuakhai which falls on September 1 (Thursday).
Sources said that around 41 lakh farmers in the State will receive the assistance through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in their bank accounts.
A total of Rs 869 crore will be disbursed by the State government in this regard, sources added.
The State government had earlier released financial assistance to small and marginal farmers and landless farmers on seven occasions under the KALIA scheme and this one will be the eighth one.
