Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government is to release the reduced school syllabus for the academic year 2020-21 in a matter of a week, informed School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Sunday.
He said that Principal Secretary of the department is scrutinising the proposals submitted by expert committees of Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT).
“We are hopeful that the percentage of the syllabus reduced and details about the chapters removed from the syllabus will be clear within a week. Though no decision has been taken yet on how much it will be reduced, students can get a clear picture of the syllabus by August-end,” said Dash.
On reopening of schools and other educational institutes, Dash said that all schools in Odisha are now closed till August 31, as per the guidelines of the Centre.
A clear picture about the Centre’s decision on the opening of schools will be out after August 31 following which the State Government will take a decision after reviewing the COVID situation in the State, he added.
