Bhubaneswar: The newly-formed Odisha government has decided to rename the on-going LAccMI (Location Accessible Multi-modal Initiative) bus services connecting panchayat to block headquarters. The affordable bus services will run in the name of ‘Mukhyamantri Bus Seva’ soon, Transport, Mines and Steel Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena said today.
“There is no smell of party politics in any of our scheme. No scheme will be purpose-driven. All the schemes will be meant for the welfare of people only. We have promised to provide seamless bus services to the people. So, we have decided to rename it as ‘Mukhyamantri Bus Seva’. People will be happy to use it in the name of Chief Minister,” Jena said.
A matter of great pleasure is that the bus services will begin from all blocks in the State on the occasion of Rath Yatra, he added.
The bus fare will remain unchaged, the minister added.
The former BJD government had initiated the LAccMI scheme with an aim to provide seamless public transport to the citizens.
Former chief minister Naveen Patnaik had launched the scheme on October 12, 2023.
