Bhubaneswar: In a significant move aimed at easing accommodation challenges for visitors, Odisha’s Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Sunday announced that the state government will establish 30 district-wise guest houses in the capital city.
Addressing the media, Minister Pujari said that each of the 30 guest houses will cater specifically to people from individual districts of the state.
“Every guest house will have 100 rooms and will be built to serve visitors coming to Bhubaneswar for healthcare and other essential needs,” he said.
Highlighting the difficulties faced by visitors, the minister noted that many people are forced to spend large amounts on hotels and lodges during short visits.
“This often causes financial strain, especially for those from rural or economically weaker sections. The upcoming guest houses will provide them with affordable and convenient lodging options,” Pujari added.
He further stated that each guest house will be named after the district it represents, ensuring a sense of belonging and familiarity for guests.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader efforts to make the state capital more accessible and visitor-friendly for all citizens of Odisha.
