Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today announced to waive entertainment tax on’Delivery Boy’, an Odia movie directed by Ashwini Tripathy and produced by Jyotiranjan Mohanty.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik gave his approval to a proposal in this regard, said an official press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) today.
In urban areas, the role of a Delivery Boy has become indispensable in our lives.
Generally, coming from impoverished families, the work of Delivery Boys is very challenging and their lives are filled with struggle. The movie is based on the lives of Delivery Boys.
The movie shows the fight of the protagonist, a delivery boy, for justice with the support of his colleagues after he meets with a road accident. The Odia film also attempts to promote road safety awareness among the audience.
The movie is expected to have a positive impact on the audience.
Actors Budhaditya Mohanty, Sailendra Samantaray, Susant Dasmohapatra, Priyambada and Suryamayee acted in this film.
Worth mentioning, recently the State government had also announced a waiver of entertainment tax on ‘Zwigato’
The State government has been encouraging the film industry and also implemented a favourable policy so that more and more commercial films are shot in Odisha.
The Chief Minister has hoped that this will develop and promote tourism and create jobs for talented youths.
