Bhubaneswar: Assumed to be a festive gift by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to the State Government employees as well as those who have retired from the government service, an 11% increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) was announced on Friday.
As per the announcement, the Dearness Allowance has been hiked from 17% to 28% with effect from July 1, 2021. It will benefit around 4 lakh incumbent employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners of the State Government.
The payment of arrears from July 2021 on account of enhanced DA will be drawn and disbursed from October 2021, the announcement added.
