Bhubaneswar: Ten cities in Odisha have recorded temperatures of 37°C or higher, with Jharsuguda being the hottest place today, reaching a high of 38.6°C.

Other cities that experienced extreme heat include Paralakhemundi at 38.6°C, Balangir at 38.4°C, Titilagarh and Boudh at 38°C, Sambalpur at 37.8°C, Sundergarh at 37.3°C, Hirakud and Angul at 37.1°C, and Bhawanipatna at 37°C.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Evening Weather Bulletin, dry weather is expected to continue in Odisha, with maximum temperatures likely to be 2-3°C higher than normal in several districts, including Puri, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Bolangir, and Boudh, from March 4 to 6.
The IMD also stated that the maximum temperatures (day temperatures) will rise by 2-3°C over the next three days, with no major changes expected after that.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperatures (night temperatures) are expected to stay the same for the next three days before falling by 2-3°C in the following two days.
The IMD has also issued a weather warning for fishermen along Odisha’s coast, which will remain valid for the next five days.
